I Won’t Be on for the Sprint Tonight

Monday, April 9th, 2012

6:25 pm Monday —

Just learned I can’t do the 2m Spring Sprint tonight.  This does *not* affect my calling the 144.240 net on Wed. night, using our new spring/summer start time of 0100Z/8pm central.  I’ll be there for the net.   As of now, expect WB9LYH back for April 18th and beyond.

I’ve publicized the sprint heavily for the past few weeks.  I hope some of you have helped.  The sprints can always use more publicity and more signals on the air.
If you need more info about the sprints, scroll down this front page to a March 20th post.   The complete schedule, plus a link to the sponsor’s website are within that March 20th post.
I hope you find lots of activity tonight and have an enjoyable 2m sprint.

Light Turnout for Nets — K8TQK has 10 Checkins and KC9BQA 9

   9:45pm Wednesday
Let’s get these net reports up this evening.
K8TQK apologizes for a lot of line noise in many directions tonight.  Bob knows he missed at least several callers.  For instance, he was a solid S5 into my rig and he had a hard time hearing me above the noise.
   Here’s who K8TQK worked tonight with the 144.252 net:  K8GDT and NF8O EN91;  W2UAD FN13;  W8WG EM89;  KY4MRG EM77;  W4TMW EM84;  KI4ROF EM55;  WA9M and WB4TVK EM79 and KC9BQA EN63.
I had the 144.240 net tonight, from EN63ao, or 40 miles north of Milwaukee.  I also have the net next week.  *REMEMBER THE 144.240 NET WILL NOW START ONE HOUR LATER — 0100z/8PM CENTRAL — UNTIL AT LEAST OCTOBER.*  This change is effective next Wed., April 11th.
   My list was also a short one tonight:  N9OLT EN64;  N8WNA EN82;  K8GDT EN91;  KR8T EN72;  WB0YWW EN22;  WE9K EN62;  KC8ZJL EN71;  KC9CLM EN52 and KY9E EN53.  KC9CLM’s signal has taken a big jump.  He has new coax, plus a yagi up 35′.

Please remember the Spring VHF/UHF Sprints start up this Monday, April 9th.  The first sprint is on 2m, from 7-11pm in your local time zone.  Help spread the word and get more signals on the air.   All the Spring Sprint info is down this front page, in a March 20th post.   Go there for rules, dates and the link to the Sprints website.
