Want to confirm that WB9LYH plans on calling the 144.240 Wed. net tonight at the usual time of 8pm central/9pm eastern. WB9LYH is located in EN54cl, central WI, a good hour west of Green Bay. Mark has a big signal and all licensed amateurs are welcome. The goal is to increase activity on 2 meter SSB. We appreciate our loyal check-ins, both local and semi-local. WB9LYH enjoys pushing the propagation limits and DX is always welcome to give it a try.

ABOUT THE WEEKLY EMAILS…
Ever since I got motivated to increase 2 meter SSB activity back in 2008, I have emailed weekly reminders to various groups of VHF’ers that were in my logbooks. One group is to the east of WI and another is to the south and west. I’ve been emailing these hams for many years now. I am not sure that many read the email anymore.
I would prefer everyone simply check kc9bqa.com weekly but I know in the real world, that’s not going to happen. So the weekly emails are a friendly, low-key way of reminding VHF’ers to tune in on Wed. nights and to let others know to do the same. The same message I put up here at the website.
LATELY MORE AND MORE of these emails bounce back to me. By now, nearly half of the emails are bouncing back. So if you’re visiting, wondering where your emails are, now you know.
For a few months, anyone with an aol.com address has been bouncing back to me. Then a few weeks ago, when all the Yahoo BS hit, that triggered a much larger wave of emails bouncing back. Anyone with a Yahoo email addy, plus SBCglobal.net and ATT.net is now affected.
I’M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS. I’m a real putz when it comes to a lot of computer things. So for the next few weeks, I think I’m going to simply not send out the emails and not get annoyed when dozens of them bounce back to me.
If the number of net check-ins stays strong even without me sending out emails, then I’ll know what to do. Simply stop sending weekly reminder emails. That would make my life simpler.
If someone knows an easy solution to this, I’m all ears. My everyday email is good at qrz.com. Unfortunately, I had to disable the “comment” feature at kc9bqa.com several years ago. I was getting all sorts of crazy spam.
I WON’T LIE. I WOULD PREFER EVERYONE GET IN THE HABIT OF VISITING KC9BQA.COM just for a minute or two, once or twice a week. Check the latest headlines and you’re done. And of course, refer others so we can get more signals on the SSB/CW portions of bands like 50, 144, 222 and 432 MHz. Plus yes, microwave bands like 902, 1296, 2304 MHz and on up into even 10 Gig.
