144.240 and 144.250 net reports from last night
WB9LYH heard from 21 stations and had close calls with 2 others last night. He starts up at 0100Z, looking E at Michigan and swings slowly clockwise from there. He typically is done by 0230Z, when he’s looking north. Last night, he heard from:
KF9I EN54; N8WNA EN82; N8JDO EN62; N9YK EN71; KC9HDT EN43; K2DRH and WB0ISK EN41; N9NDP EN62; W9RWS and WB9HLM EN52; W9YZU and KD4GSL EM69; KC9BQA and K9KHW EN63; K9KL EN64; KA0OKM EN42; KD0CFB and N0IRS EM29; K0SIX EN35; N9KOR EN44 and VE3KRP EN58.
KC0VOE EN35 and W7XU EN13 stopped by and were close calls — no contact.
Signals were OK for winter. I’m noticing a strong tendency the past 6-8 weeks that signals are 1-3 S units stronger earlier in the evening, and then they drop off after 8-9pm. Never opped much during the winter in previous years so this is a good learning opportunity, being on the air every week.
The real-time V/UHF chat at www.on4kst.com was quite active. You’ll get a clearer idea of what’s going on with the 144.240 net if you give this chat a try.
I had 11 check-ins to the 144.250 Badger Contesters net at 0230Z.
NT9E EN52; KC9KPV, KC9NZR, WB9TFH, K9FI and W9GA EN53; K9KHW, KA9OFA and N9YLS EN63; WV9E EN43 and K0SIX EN35
We should be *ON* next week. Always check the website for the final word, in case something comes up.
My understanding is that WB9LYH is NOT available the 1st Wed. in February. It’d be great if we could have some alternate net controls to the NW, W and/or SW on that night. Any volunteers?
