144.240 (0100Z) and 144.250 (0230Z) nets *ON* Wed. night

Here’s early word that our 144.240 and 144.250 nets from WI will be *ON* tomorrow night — Wed.    WB9LYH is on 144.240 from 0100-0230Z, with a big station that gets out 400+ miles from EN54cl, middle of WI.   He starts out looking east into MI, and then swings slowly clockwise.    He averages 20-25 check-ins, from across a wide area.   Both WB9LYH and I feel strongly about having the net create RF ripples that spread out like circles on a pond.

If you don’t enjoy nets, that’s fine — feel free to try working net check-ins who slide down and look around for their own activity from 144.230 on down.   Best way to keep track of the net in real-time is to join and use this free, real-time chat.   It’s at www.on4kst.com and 7 simple steps to get signed up are at this post:  http://kc9bqa.com/?p=1072   Give it a try (free, no obligation) and see it for yourself.    You can also use this chat yourself to coordinate contacts with other stations.

I’m on 144.250 at 0230Z from EN63ao, or 40 N of Milwaukee.    I usually have some SE WI/NE ILL regulars, and after I gab with them for a while, I swing clockwise and call CQ a full 360.   I’m usually done about 0330-0345Z.   By far, the busier net is with 144.240 and WB9LYH from 0100-0230Z.

Those Hepburn Tropo Forecast maps show slight enhancement across a huge area of the central USA tomorrow night.   Here’s hoping we enjoy an active net, and that when you’re done looking for the net, you will turn in other directions and call CQ yourself.   If several dozen do this on Wednesdays, we’ll end up creating a “can’t miss” night to play radio.

The on4kst chat link is on the right side of the Grid Bandit website. All the links to all tools plus more to work VHF are there. Have other suggestions, let me know. I’ll have my own Prop chat link up soon where you can post prop reports or chat. Great weekend for working DX on 2m and above. Several folks worked into Mexico today and EM00 and EM02. Upper level duct. See you Wed night for what is turning out to be the most active night and area of the US for VHF SSB. Thanks to the work and efforts of KC9BQA and WB9LYH for leading the way and encouraging all ops to get on and “Make Some Noise”.
